Welcome to Calisthenics Lab — a gym specialized in bodyweight training! We're located in Bemböle, Espoo, and offer bodyweight training from beginner to advanced level. Our class selection includes small group sessions in Calisthenics, handstands, body maintenance, mobility training, running coordination (in the summer), and acrobatics! We offer classes for adults, youth, families, and toddlers. In addition, we provide personal coaching and create customized training programs.
Calisthenics focuses on movements and "tricks" practiced on parallel bars and high bar, as well as on the ground. Our strength lies in teaching precise and safe techniques for performing challenging and unique movements, all within a warm and encouraging training environment. We offer classes for all ages!
In our beginner classes, you'll learn essential techniques for chin-ups, push-ups, dips, handstands, basic acrobatics, swings, and mobility. As you progress to more advanced groups, you'll tackle skills like muscle-ups, planches, presses, and various levers and Lsit /Vsit.
Our acrobatics training includes movements on bars, as well as ground work. In our youth groups, we emphasize acrobatic tricks like cartwheels, flips, vaults, and high bar tricks, while also covering other areas of skill development.
The key focuses for us are mastering proper techniques, fostering the well-being of both body and mind, and maintaining a supportive atmosphere. We prioritize careful warm-ups, body care, and mobility exercises to help prevent injuries.
With our extensive experience in the sport and in leading training groups, we also offer private lessons and tailored exercise programs. Welcome to our expert guidance!

What is Calisthenics?
Calisthenics comes from the Greek words 'kallos' (beauty) and 'sthenos' (strength), referring to bodyweight training that primarily uses your own body as resistance. The sport is also known as Street Workout and focuses particularly on movements on bars, parallel bars, and the ground.
Training combines strength, acrobatics, mobility, endurance, and coordination. There are exercises for everyone, making it suitable for all skill levels. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced athlete, Calisthenics is for you!
Our new gym is located in Bemböle, Espoo!
Calisthenics Lab has moved to our new indoor facility in Bemböle, Espoo, as of September! The new gym is cozy, high, bright, and a compact 200 square meters. It features rings, parallel bars, a bouncy floor, trampoline, and a foam pit with a bar above it, allowing you to practice landings and somersaults from the trampoline!
Arrival:
You can easily reach our gym by both public transport and your own car! Both Kehä 3 and Turunväylä and Turuntie are within walking distance. Bus line 200 runs almost to our door from downtown Helsinki.
For those driving, there are plenty of free parking spots right in front of the gym or timed parking spots on the street.

Hi, I'm Jari. I'm involved with Calisthenics Lab as an expert and mentor. Additionally, I write and take photos. I have a long history in competitive gymnastics, but after my injury in 2016, my life took a new direction...
